WARRANTY POLICY

Application scope & warranty time

1. Applicable to GAC cars distributed by GAC MOTOR Vietnam, warranty registration and operating within the territory of Vietnam. 

2. Vehicles delivered to customers are warranted for either a designated period of time or a specific mileage whichever comes first. The warranty period refers to the period or mileage calculated from the date the dealer issues the purchase invoice.

+ Basic warranty period of the vehicle: 7 years or 150,000 km (whichever comes first).

Responsibilities of vehicle owner 

  1. Carefully check the warranty registration information that the Authorized Dealer has registered for your vehicle.
  2. Subject your vehicle to first maintenance at the GAC MOTOR Vietnam Authorized Dealer within 5,000 km or 3 months (whichever comes first).
  3. Make sure that your vehicle is maintained and inspected at the GAC MOTOR Vietnam Authorized Dealer according to the regular maintenance schedule in warranty manual.
  4. Get any fault of your vehicle inspected and repaired at the GAC MOTOR Vietnam Authorized Dealer in time, which may be covered under the warranty.
  5. Note that any modifications or additional installations on your car may affect performance, safety, durability and may even violate state regulations. , accordingly, the car owner must be responsible for any damages and losses that arise.

Vehicle owners need to fully comply with the above regulations. If done incorrectly, GAC MOTOR Vietnam has the right to refuse warranty.

Term are not covered by warranty

1. When verifying the warranty items, the Authorized Dealer will consider the following conditions that are outside the warranty coverage of the GAC MOTOR Vietnam:

a) Use of a vehicle in a country or region other than that where the vehicle is sold.

b) Vehicle damage caused by the maintenance, repair and adjustment performed in places other than the GAC MOTOR Vietnam Authorized Dealer.

c) Vehicle defects caused by caused by failure to use genuine parts, lubricating grease and liquids specified by GAC MOTOR Vietnam.

d) Vehicle damage caused by negligence, improper handling and the driving methods other than those specified in the Operation Instructions or the operation outside the limit operating range (such as maximum load and seating capacity) of the vehicle.

e) Vehicle damage caused by application of corrosive or low-quality cleaning agent.

f) Modification, addition, adjustment and removal of the vehicle prohibited in the Operation Instructions without the approval of GAC MOTOR Vietnam.

g) Vehicle damage caused by abnormal use, improper handling, negligence or the operation performed by the unqualified or unskilled driver and the application for races (such as vehicle race or motor rally).

h) Sensation problems that do not affect the vehicle performance.

+ The warranty of GAC MOTOR Vietnam does not cover the defective sensation problems that do not affect the quality, function or performance of products.

i) Any damage caused by improper storage or transportation.

j) Vehicle defects caused by the natural disaster, adverse weather, war, fire, traffic condition, theft or attempted theft and its secondary damage incurred.

k) Vehicle damage caused by the environmental conditions other than the normal operation conditions of household automobiles (such as air pollution, chemical compound, guano, sea salt or other corrosive substances).

l) Vehicle corrosion or fault caused by the water immersion.

m) Vehicle surface corrosion caused by the flying stone or external scratch.

n) Depreciation or any loss as a result.

2. The warranty does not cover the maintenance items fluids and auxiliary materials that are not necessary for the warranty and maintenance.

3. The warranty does not cover the following incidental charges.

+ Expenses for communication, mediation, meal and accommodation because of a fault.

+ Any relevant personal injury or property damage.

4. GAC MOTOR Vietnam reserves the right to determine the repair methods and warranty coverage.

5. All parts under the warranty coverage are the property of GAC MOTOR Vietnam.

6. The fuel, lubricating grease and liquids specified by GAC MOTOR Vietnam shall be used.

MAINTENANCE INFORMATION

1. WHY IS REGULAR MAINTENANCE NEED? 

Regular maintenance keeps your vehicle in the best operating condition and operates efficiently. This increases the vehicle's lifespan and helps customers always have a perfect experience when using it. Therefore, customers should actively take the car to the nearest GAC Authorized Dealer for regular maintenance.

2. WHEN MUST MAINTENANCE BE PERFORMED?

First and second times at 5,000 km or 3 months, and thereafter every 10,000 km or 6 months , whichever comes first.

3. WHY CHOOSE THE AUTHORIZED GAC DEALER FOR YOUR MAINTENANCE

At the GAC MOTOR Vietnam Authorized Dealer, regular maintenance is performed by professionally trained technicians, specialized and modern vehicle inspection equipment and supply genuine high-quality spare parts. Thus, the quality of your vehicle is always in the best condition with the most competitive service prices.When regular maintenance is performed at non-authorized GAC dealer, there may be omissions and error when performing maintenance. It may damage your car, reduce the customer’s driving experience, and can void the car’s warranty. So please consider carefully when choosing a workshops for maintenance.

RECALL CAMPAIGN INFORMATION

What is a vehicle recall?

A vehicle recall is issued when the manufacturer notifies the customer that the vehicle you are using has a defect that may pose a safety risk, or cause inconvenience when used, and the manufacturer will conduct inspection, repair and replacement to thoroughly fix that problem.

Scope of application:

The scope of application includes GAC brand automobile products distributed through the GAC MOTOR Vietnam Authorized Dealer system. A recall campaign must be implemented thoroughly, quickly and accurately to ensure that all vehicles affected by safety-related errors are promptly repaired regardless of the age or mileage of the vehicle.

Responsibilities of GAC MOTOR Vietnam :

1- Responsibilities of GAC MOTOR Vietnam is to always monitor, receive and be ready to implement recall requests, and promptly send official notices to each Authorized Dealer of GAC MOTOR Vietnam nationwide about the recall campaign, which will provide full details about the vehicles involved and the work to be done, to ensure that authorized dealers are fully aware of and promptly complete the proposed recall requests.

2- GAC MOTOR Vietnam commits to using all necessary resources within its ability to coordinate, support, inspect, monitor and report the results of the recall campaign to relevant parties.

24/7 GAC ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE SERVICES (RSA) POLICY 

Roadside Assistance Services is introduced by GAC MOTOR Vietnam (TC Services Vietnam) in order to provide better services and confidence for customers when they own a GAC vehicle.

GAC Roadside Assistance Service is available 24/7 via toll free call center 1800-255-511.

Below are details of Roadside Assistance Service coverage: 

1. Application

Any customer who owns a GAC vehicle distributed by GAC MOTOR Vietnam (TC Services Vietnam) will be entitled to enjoy the services provided by our 24/7 Roadside Assistance Service.

2. Service cost and period

Roadside Assistance Service 24/7 is offered to GAC owners without any charges (terms and conditions applied) within seven (07) years or 150,000km (whichever comes first) from new vehicle delivery date.

After the above-mentioned period, GAC owners can still request a roadside assistance service. However, all costs incurred when using 3rd party services such as towing fees, tire replacement, battery jump-start, fuel assistance, etc. shall be paid by customers.

3. Provided services

3.1. (Twenty-four) hours access to technical advice

Telephone technical advice will be provided in relation to the vehicle’s operation and safety warnings or lights that may appear, or technical and mechanical information regarding the customer’s vehicle.

3.2. Breakdown towing to the closest Authorized Dealers (accident cases are not covered)

If a customer’s car is immobilized or cannot be driven safely under the vehicles’ own power, we will arrange for customer’s vehicle to be towed/ transported to the closest GAC Dealer, even during holidays.

3.3. Flat battery jump-starting

In case the customer's vehicle battery is temporarily dead, battery jump-starting service shall be provided to customers with unlimited distance.

3.4. Flat tyre changing

In the event that one tyre of the vehicle is damaged, and the spare tyre is available, the customer shall be provided tyre replacement service for unlimited distance.

In case there is no spare tyre available, or more than 2 tyres are damaged, towing service to the closest Authorized Dealer will be recommended.

3.5. Emergency fuel assistance

In the event that the vehicle runs out of fuel, up to 10 liters of fuel as manufacturer’s recommendation will be delivered to the position of the vehicle with unlimited distance without any charges but once per year only.

3.6. Lost or locked keys - Customer’s own spare key delivery

Where the key has been lost or stolen, or has been locked inside customer’s vehicle, we will arrange for customer’s own spare key to be delivered to customer for free if the distance from customer’s own spare key location to the locked car location is within 15Km. The charge for additional distance is the responsibility of the customer.

3.7. Emergency message relay

In the event of breakdown or accident, we can connect customers through to family members, friends or business associates so as to notify them of any delays. Alternatively, customers may request us to notify these people on customer’s behalf

3.8. Interpreter service

Driver/ vehicle owner shall receive support in interpreting service to facilitate communications with third party, especially when driver/ vehicle owner is a foreigner.

3.9. Interpreter service

If customers are involved in an accident and contact to GAC Call Center, we will be pleased to advise customers of any obligations and details that need to be obtained from the other driver, for extra peace of mind. We will also help to call for ambulance in necessary situations.

We will support to arrange towing service for customer’s vehicle only if requested by customers. All the related costs will be responsibility of customers or insurer.

3.10. Chauffeur assistance/ Hotel arrangement/ Emergency taxi transport assistance

In the events of incident that may require any of the above services, customers shall receive support for arrangement only, any expenses incurred shall be borne by customers.

4. Service exclusions

4.1. Any person driving the vehicle without holding a valid driver's license issued by a competent authority.
4.2. Any cost resulting from the customer being under the influence of intoxicating liquor, solvent abuse or drugs.
4.3. Any problem resulting from an accident, natural disaster or force majeure situation such as war, rebellion, terrorism....
4.4. Any problem resulting from modification or improper usage of the vehicle for such purposes as racing, off-roading, overloading, etc.
4.5. The vehicle is in an un-roadworthy condition or intentionally driven on harsh terrain such as debris, potholes or other obstacles...
4.6. Service may not be possible when the vehicle is not located on a sealed and gazetted public road or it is too dangerous for the service vehicle to operate because of prevailing weather or road conditions.
4.7. Towing cost to a non-authorized Dealer, or to an authorized Dealer but not the closest one, or for the second towing from first agreed destination to another destination.
4.8. Additional charges for the towing of vehicles, which have been altered to the extent that they require special procedures and/or equipment beyond that normally required for the towing of an unaltered vehicle.
4.9. Any toll charges and fuel (except in case of when a customer makes a legitimate claim under “run out of fuel” benefits).
4.10. Any damage to or theft of objects and accessories which are left in or outside the vehicle.
4.11. Any expenses incurred after customer’s vehicle is towed to Authorized Dealer, such as: labour, parts, etc.
4.12. Any indirect expenses incurred resulting from roadside assistance activities, including customer time, income, mental loss, commercial loss, telephone, accommodation, etc.
4.13. Any dishonesty in reporting vehicle’s situation or breakdown location, or rejection to follow instructions from GAC Call Center, which result in improper assistance solution or impossible support
4.14. Any expenses incurred without the prior authorization of GAC call center.

Currently, we have not offered any on-site repair or warranty services. Maintenance, repair, and warranty activities will be carried out at the service workshops of GAC MOTOR Vietnam's authorized 3S dealerships.

7. Can I purchase the car from one Dealer and do service/ warranty/ repair in another dealer?
Yes, it is possible.
Policies and customers' benefits on warranty/maintenance are the same at any GAC MOTOR Vietnam's authorized 3S dealerships, regardless of whether the customer buys a car at that dealer or not.

8. Does GAC have a free maintenance policy for vehicles? What do I need to do to enjoy this free policy?
Currently, GAC MOTOR Vietnam offers free maintenance labor for GAC vehicles within 7 years or 150,000km (whichever comes first).
Please bring your vehicle and Warranty Booklet to any authorized 3S Dealerships of GAC MOTOR Vietnam for further instructions.

9. After the warranty period expires, does GAC MOTOR Vietnam provide a warranty extension package for GAC vehicles?
The current warranty period of GAC MOTOR Vietnam for GAC vehicles is 07 years or 150.000Km (whichever comes first), which is quite long. Therefore, we have no warranty extension policy at this moment.
