NEARLY 20 YEARS OF PARTNERSHIP WITH TOP GLOBAL AUTOMAKERS

GAC Group has nearly 20 years of experience collaborating with two major names in the automotive industry, Toyota and Honda, in the Chinese market. Through this collaboration, the Group has developed assembly plants in China, where advanced Japanese technology and production processes are applied. As a result, GAC Group continuously enhances product quality and improves production processes while expanding its product portfolio.

GAC Honda is one of the fastest and most sustainably developing joint ventures of the brand with milestones:

• 1998: Implemented 353 projects in just 9 months
• 1999: Opened the first fully functional dealership in China
• 2007: Established Guangzhou Honda R&D Co., Ltd.
• 2010: The first crossover vehicle of the joint venture – CrossTour – rolled off the production line
• 2015: Completed the Honda Guangzhou engine plant

GAC Toyota is one of the most successful automotive joint ventures in China.

• 2004: The factory was inaugurated after 18 months of construction. GAC Toyota recorded a revenue of 500 million yuan in its first year.
• May 2004: The project to build the GAC Toyota engine manufacturing area officially commenced.
• 2006: A total of 160,000 vehicles were produced and exported to Japan.
• May 2006: The localization rate of the Camry model reached 72%.
• These collaborations and milestones not only helped the Group access technologies in the production of high-tech items like automobiles but also provided management, operational, and innovative experience, laying the groundwork for GAC GROUP’s future successes.

MODEREN FACTORY SYSTEM, COMPETITIVE PRODUCTION CAPACITY

After a period of conducting business through joint ventures with foreign companies, GAC Group is determined to enhance its core competitive capacity. In 2007, the Group launched its self-owned brand project in automobile manufacturing, established an advanced R&D center, and a world-class automobile manufacturing system, as well as successfully launched the GAC automobile brand.

GAC MOTOR currently owns and operates four large-scale manufacturing plants in China, among which the factory in Guangzhou covers an area of 1,180,000 m², making it one of GAC MOTOR’s largest automobile manufacturing plants, with a production capacity of up to 350,000 vehicles per year, meeting the high demand for quality vehicle lines. This factory also boasts an average automation rate of 90%, which helps improve production efficiency, ensure product quality, and minimize errors.

In addition, GAC Group also owns three other factories, including:

• The GAC factory in Xinjiang: Designed to produce sedan and SUV models. The factory covers an area of over 93.3 hectares, with a designed capacity of 200,000 vehicles per year;
• The GAC factory in the Yichang area, built in 2018, has an area of approximately 330,000 m2 with a designed capacity of about 200,000 vehicles per year;
• The GAC factory in Hangzhou: built in 2016 with a total area of 254,000 m2, a capacity of 200,000 vehicles per year, specializing in the production of high-end and electric vehicle models. This factory is equipped with advanced technologies to meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly vehicles.

GAC MOTOR applies advanced manufacturing technologies from Japan in all its factories, ensuring that the production process meets high-quality and efficiency standards. Alongside this, each step in the manufacturing process is closely monitored to ensure that the final products meet standards for quality and durability.

PIONEERING INVESTMENT IN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

The GAC R&D CENTER – the heart of GAC Group based in Guangzhou, was established to develop “Made by GAC” products and technologies for the global automotive industry. Founded in 2006, the Group has invested $2.9 billion and plans to continue with $3 billion over the next five years for the development of this Center. Currently, GAC Group holds more than 18,000 patents. With continuous breakthroughs from “Tech GAC,” GAC has established strong competitive power and has been ranked in the Fortune Global 500 for 11 consecutive years. Notable technologies researched and developed at the GAC R&D Center include:

• The GPMA (GAC Global Platform Modular Architecture) chassis structure – GAC’s Global Modular Platform, applicable to sedan, SUV, MPV, PHEV models, and other vehicles. This is also the first foundation architecture from China that meets the diverse needs of the global automotive market. This architecture is designed to be flexible and durable, allowing for a shorter suspension system, increased wheelbase, or wider vehicle dimensions… A new vehicle built on the GPMA architecture thus helps the vehicle exude dynamism, while also enhancing fuel efficiency, providing high reliability, improving the user experience by 55, and offering 10 details that bring optimal upgrades.

• GAC’s automatic drive system technology (Mega Wavepower): At the Beijing Auto Show 2020, a new generation of energy technology named “Mega Wavepower” was launched, creating a new generation of products with powerful capacity, high responsiveness, and low fuel consumption. Mega Wavepower is not just about engine cooling capability but a complete system of improvements and engine refinements made by GAC to elevate the engine to a level of performance and power that is on par with or superior to other competitors. The engine technology helps maintain low temperatures, improving and enhancing performance.

• The Interactive Smart Cockpit was first introduced at the Shanghai Auto Show 2021, becoming the world’s first “Interactive Smart Cockpit,” a part of the ADiGO 4.0 smart driving ecosystem. This technology utilizes AI, AR, big data, and 5G connectivity, providing early awareness capabilities, proactive service features, and the ability to integrate sensory experiences for users. This is considered a significant advancement, transforming the relationship between humans and vehicles from “vehicle” to “partner.”

In addition, a series of technologies such as the intelligent driving system ADiGO PILOT, the co-creation platform ADiGO MAGIC, and the motion prediction framework XPredFormer… have also helped GAC MOTOR achieve the award “Top 10 Global Intelligent Vehicle Brands 2023-2024.” GAC Group is currently collaborating with 18 leading suppliers worldwide such as DENSO, BOSCH, Aisin, Continental, Valeo,… to provide essential components for automobiles, including engines, transmissions, and chassis. These partners play a crucial role in helping GAC produce high-quality, safe, and reliable vehicles. ALL-NEW M8 AND ALL-NEW GS8: TWO QUALITY CAR MODELS READY TO HIT THE VIETNAMESE MARKET

• ALL-NEW M8, the new standard for the premium MPV segment

Making its debut at the Chengdu Auto Show 2022 (China) as the second generation of the GAC GN8, a model that has led the Chinese domestic market for luxury MPVs for 34 consecutive months. The ALL-NEW M8 impresses from the first glance with its grille design featuring vertical chrome bars extending from beneath the hood down to the front bumper, resembling “a mighty lion leaping into the sky,” along with headlights that have adjustable beam focus and a specially developed “Follow me home” feature. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a host of luxurious features and advanced technology such as an SDC electronic suspension system capable of adjusting damping force in real-time, providing the smoothest ride on any road.

Safety is also a top priority in the design of the ALL-NEW M8 with a comprehensive 360° “matrix” airbag system – a first in the MPV segment. This feature, along with others like the Door Open Warning (DOW) system and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), helps the ALL-NEW M8 become a leader in passenger protection, alongside the “privileges” that honor users in the interior design, truly making the ALL-NEW M8 a new benchmark in the premium MPV segment.

• ALL-NEW GS8 – Ready to Conquer Any Terrain

The ALL-NEW GS8 is an SUV model with a powerful style, attracting attention with meticulously designed details such as the chrome V-shaped grille arranged in a symmetrical layout, the “Eyes of the Conqueror” headlights that are strong yet incredibly sophisticated, and the vehicle’s flexibility, quietness, and spaciousness continue to be enhanced in every detail such as the central display system, the leather seat materials, and the super-large trunk space…

Not only that, the vehicle is also equipped with a range of advanced safety and driver assistance features that make the driving experience easier and safer. Notable features include a system of 27 safety functions, including a low-speed collision avoidance system, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and a forward collision warning system. At the same time, the specially developed megastar chassis system also enhances the driving feel, stability, and safety on every journey.
